Panorama test — Yosemite's Donahue Pass

This is a test of Blogger’s ability to show panoramic photos.

This is the view north from Donahue Pass, in the southeastern corner of Yosemite National Park. On the right is Lyell Canyon carrying the Lyell fork of the Tuolumne River north. On the far right is Mount Lyell, the highest peak in Yosemite.
The above placement is specified as "original size".  The good news is that the whole image is posted — well, the whole image that PicasaWeb deemed worth of saving.  The uploaded image is 4702 × 1080, more than twice as wide as a standard HD screen, but when uploaded to PicasaWeb, they scale it down to 2048×470, and then Blogger apparently scales it down again to 1600x368, even on a 1920x1080 HD monitor.

That's tolerable, but the image is displayed in a dumb manner, extending off the window. It can be justified to the left, right or center, but only "Left" allows the user to scroll to the side to see the rest of the image.  No zoom option, expanding it from a smaller option, much less even better management. A great demonstration of how it should work is visible at ericknightart.com/jmt.

G+ and Picasaweb
annoyingly don’t permit embedded links, but at least Blogger is good with that.
